The purpose of the Foundation Councils are to serve as an independent advisory group of salesforce.com employees to the Foundation for each of our 1%s - Product, Time, Equity. Every salesforce.com employee is given six paid days off to volunteer annually and the Foundation Councils are an opportunity for us to engage and give back to the community. Council members will also serve as champions for Foundation programs and events within the larger salesforce.com community and encourage other employees to use their paid volunteer benefit.
