BizAcademy
At BizAcademy, youth aged 15 to 20 learn to build a business—and leave not just a little richer, but with on-the-job training and expanded networks for moving forward in their careers. It's "The Apprentice": Where no one gets fired and everyone gets hired!
Every
year, salesforce.com works with youth from under-resourced and low-income
communities who want to learn about entrepreneurship. By joining the corporate
world for a week at our regional Salesforce.com offices and learning from
employees and mentors, they get hands-on experience and real-world business
experience.
Close to 200 BizAcademy graduates have participated at salesforce.com offices around the world—in San Francisco and Singapore, Tokyo and London, Dublin, New York and Toronto.
More than 100 salesforce.com employees have presented, coached and otherwise volunteered—with some hiring youth into internships at salesforce.com, reviewing their scholarship applications and helping them gain the skills to get started in their career. In fact, 50 BizAcademy graduates have been placed into internships at the salesforce.com offices—some lasting for more than two years. Since 2005, the Salesforce.com Foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to these deserving young people.
