12月8日、東京の国連大学にて地球環境基金主催「環境NGOと市民の集い - NGOにかかわる人について考えよう」が開催されました。環境や社会問題に取り組む非営利の活動が盛んになってきている一方、その人的基盤は依然として脆弱であるという問題を解決するため、市民・企業・行政から150名近い方々が集いました。

当イベントのハイライトであるパネルディスカッション「NGOと人～NGOで働くこと、NGOに必要な人材」に、セールスフォース・ドットコム　ファンデーションのマネージャーの遠藤理恵がパネリストとして参加し、かつてNGOに所属していた経験から、また、現在の企業の社会貢献担当という立場から、アイデアを述べました。具体的には、良好なパートナーシップ構築のために企業からNGOに期待すること、企業とNGOとの間の人事交流案について、企業の製品・サービスやマンパワーの提供によるNGO支援の具体例などについて話し、他のパネリストや聴講者とともに問題解決に向けて話し合いました。

To solve the still existing issue　- that though NGOs are now becoming largely active, their human resources are still weak-, Japan Fund for Global Environment held an event to discuss and think about this problem. The event was held on 8th December at UN University, Tokyo with more than 150 participants from private and public sector, government and citizens.

The main feature of the day was the panel discussion “NGO and people –To work at a NGO, What is required to work at a NGO”. Rie Endo, Japan Manager of Salesforce.com Foundation was invited to speak as one of the panels, and spoke her ideas, from her own experience working as a former NGO staff and also from her current experience working as a manager of Social activities at Salesforce.com. Commenting especially on what private companies should expect from NGOs in order to construct a good relationship, the interactions between NGOs and Private companies, and actual examples of products and employees of private companies helping NGOs together with the participants Rie discussed the solutions.
