San Francisco, CA January 2008 After months and months of hard work and generous contributions Salesforce.com employees, Alana Kadden and Jonathan Unger participated in the dedication of the Computer Lab at Sanchez Elementary School on Tuesday January 8th.
Sara Shenkan, vice principle at Sanchez College Preparatory School, calls them "the unsung tech heroes at salesforce.com are helping to close the digital divide at Sanchez," "Our 320 students use the lab daily and reading levels are rising. We couldn't have done without the Salesforce.com Foundation and are extremely grateful."
Alana Kadden reiterates the importance of creating such projects and notes that "83% of students live below the poverty line and 70% of whom are second language learners." She continues, "their reading scores rose 30% in one year (5 times the state average) - and will continue to rise thanks to your help! It took a team to make this a success and Jonathan deserves a lot of the credit for getting the resources to make this project work."
