My Journey with salesforce.com

Before I came to salesforce.com I used to work for Landmark Training as a Trainee Administrator.

While I was working for Landmark I was given the opportunity to take part in a course called Biz Academy, a five day course offered to the learners at landmark. It focuses on giving the attendees all the help and experience they need in order to succeed in the work place. Only 12 get to go and I was delighted to be on of them.

At first I did not know anything about the course, so I watched a presentation and looked at photos of last years Biz Academy. I was still unsure of what the course offered, but I decided to take part in Biz Academy. It was an unbelievable experience. We had so many individuals sharing their experience and telling us how we can become where they are now. It made me think a lot about my own future. I started telling myself, if these guys could do it then I can do it.

On our last day we were given business cards to keep in touch. I took a lot of business contacts but one person I always wanted to keep in touch with was Steve Garnet (chairman of salesforce.com EMEA). After I finished my Biz Academy course I had one month left on my current job. I was unsure what to do next as the current job was not a permanent role. I started emailing Steve for guidance and he helped me to decide what to do next.

A month later, Steve recommended me for temporary placement in the salesforce.com London central office because I kept in touch. I was really happy and glad to have gone to the Biz Academy and met Steve.

I am really enjoying my time here. I have learnt a lot from many different individuals in the many different departments at salesforce.com. I learnt new things and gained valuable experience by taking on roles that stretched my limits.

I believe this work experience will get me where I want to be in the future, working as an administrator in a permanent position.
