2008年7月12日(土)、国連大学にて地球環境パートナーシッププラザ(GEIC)主催のパネルディスカッション「NPOと企業とボランティア」が開催され、セールスフォース・ドットコム ファンデーションのマネージャー 遠藤理恵がゲストスピーカーとして参加し、前職の非営利団体での経験も踏まえながら、企業とNPOのさらなる関係構築のためのアイデアを述べました。非営利団体や企業の社会貢献担当者が耳を傾け、スピーチの後の質疑応答では「企業の心を動かしもっと活動にコミットしてもらうにはどうしたらいいのか」「数あるNPOの中からどのようにパートナーを見つけ、お互いの強みを生かしながら連携していくにはどうしたらいいのか」等の活発な意見交換が行われました。様々な立場から、コミニュティの活性化のために尽力する方々と知識・経験を共有する有意義な一日となりました。

Global Environment Information Centre (GEIC) held a panel discussion on how to establish partnership between nonprofits and corporations at the United Nations University. Rie Endo, Japan Manager, Salesforce.com Foundation was invited as a guest speaker and shared ideas and tips from her own experience working for a nonprofit organization and from her current experience at Salesforce.com. Participants from the private and public sectors listened attentively and asked questions such as “how to attract companies and get more commitments.” and “how to find out a good partner and work together in a win-win situation.” It was inspiring to have shared a lot of knowledge and experience with participants who work to make the world a better place in various positions.
