November - January Ireland, UK from November to January Salesforce employees took part in Junior Achievement, teaching experience in Ireland.
‘Junior Achievement is part of a worldwide organization which reaches out to 7 million young people each year. It was established in Ireland, in 1995 and since then has built up a strong demand from schools throughout the country it has created successful partnerships with 150 leading organizations. Science and Maths are at the core of specifically designed Junior Achievement programmes and events, emphasizing the excitement and fascination of these subjects and the vast array of career opportunities in these sectors. Junior Achievement is helping to create a culture of enterprise within the education system. Programmes begin at primary school level, teaching children how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers and continue through secondary school, preparing students for their future careers. All Junior Achievement programmes are taught by business volunteers recruited from supporting organisations and fully trained before they commence their programme.'
Richard Chambers (Account Executive), taught 12-14 year olds in Cabinteely Community School - Richard said "Junior Achievement was a very rewarding experience, both for me and (hopefully) for the kids involved. The course material was very well organised and thus very easy to deliver during the various classes. Junior Achievement is one foundation activity that I would highly recommend; I for one will be volunteering again next year!"
