18th/19th March, Morges Switzerland -
On a treasure hunt...Picking up rubbish
It was on two sunny and windy days that members from the Morges office went on a treasure hunt by the lakeside of Lake Geneva. Armed with specialist picking tools, plastic gloves and rubbish bags we eagerly entered the world of the cleaning business. And by marching along the lakeside at its lowest tide, during the month of March, we made some great, and bizarre discoveries!
With Morges, Switzerland, being one of the cleanest cities of the world, we didn't expect to have much success in our treasure hunt. However, aside from finding the usual array of plastic bottles and cigarette butts scattered on the ground, we found lighters, boxes, bicycle tyres, garden umbrella, fibreglass from a boat, lifejacket, fishing net, inflatable beach ball, jacket and a wooden paddle. However, the best find of the day was a 80cm long "Nemo".
The day finished by an ecological separation of our treasure into plastic, glass.....!
Looking forward to the next event...
