Google, the Salesforce.com Foundation and Facebook Dedicate Day to Helping Nonprofits Understand and Use Cloud Computing Tools

SAN FRANCISCO, March 23, 2009 -Google, the Salesforce.com Foundation and Facebook are joining forces to host a free, one-day event for the nonprofit community on Tuesday, March 24 in Washington, D.C. called "Doing More With Less: Your Nonprofit in the Cloud." The event will focus on how online "cloud" and social applications can enable nonprofits to communicate, build community, and raise money more effectively and efficiently in today's challenging environment.

 

Who: The keynote speaker will be Holly Ross, Executive Director of NTEN, in addition to speakers from Google/YouTube, the Salesforce.com Foundation and Facebook. The day will also include a panel of representatives from Atlas Service Corps, the Case Foundation, the Colorectal Cancer Coalition, Energy Action Coalition, Oxfam America and the Points of Light Institute.

 

What: Presentations will cover best practices in new media, social networking and cloud computing and in-depth breakout sessions will be led by Google/YouTube, the Salesforce.com Foundation, Facebook and Convio on topics such as activating YouTube audiences, fundraising and constituent management, recruiting donors with Google Grants/AdWords, and leveraging the Force.com AppExchange, Google Earth, and Facebook for causes.
