港区立障害保健福祉センターみなとワークアクティは、一般の企業等に就職することが困難な知的障がいのある方に仕事を提供し、作業や生活等の事業を通して自立を支援する施設です。通所者のみなさんのスキルアップのために、セールスフォース・ドットコムの社員がボランティア活動を実施しています。
1. 英会話教室 2月3日
通所者のみなさんを対象に、英会話講座を開催しました。AlliancesとMarketingメンバーを中心に6名の社員があいさつなど基本的な英会話を指導しました。
VP, AlliancesのFred Macaraegは英語で歌いながら英語に親しんでもらうプログラムを実施しました。「レッスン後にまたきてねといわれ、心あたたまる思いでいっぱいになりました」と話しています。
2. PC教室 3月13日
昨年12月に続き、2回目のPC教室の開催です。Educationメンバーを中心に6名がPC講師となり、通所者のみなさんの興味に合わせ、インターネット検索や名刺作成、文章入力など基本的なパソコン操作を指導しました。
今回のリーダーをつとめたEducationの麻生良子からのコメントです。
「今回は、受講者7名、講師6名での開催でした。今回はじめてこのボランティアに参加したシニアコンサルタントの松岡さんが、普段見られない（？）熱血講師として大活躍したのが印象的でした。通所者のみなさんに喜んでいただきながら、私たちボランティア自身も作業に取り組む真摯な受講者の姿勢に刺激を受けました。」
Minato Work Acty is a vocational training center for people with intelectually/mentally disabled people near our office in Tokyo. To improve their skills and careers, salesforce.com employees are offering them upskilling training courses with their 1% of time. Here are some examples of our skill-based volunteerings.
- English Conversation Classes
Six bilingual employees from Alliances and Marketing devided into two groups to teach daily basic English conversation such as how to introduce yourself, how to greet in English. Fred Macaraeg, VP, Alliances, a team leader for Group B, introduced a sing-along style of English lesson. Everyone enjoyed singing songs such as 'Old McDonald'. He said after the course that '' I was requested by them to come back soon for another lesson, which touched my heart. Such a great confort for me!''
- PC Classes
This is the second session for employees from Service to teach them how to operate PCs. Six employees offered hands-on trainings to them according to their interests. Some serched Internet to get get info on whatever they want, and others created their business cards or typed sentenses with PCs. Ryoko Asao, Education said '' It's so nice to see that they are really enjoying our lessons. We got inspiration ffrom thir sincere efforts to work on IT. Matsuoka-san, a consultant who joined in this activity for the first time was a hot-blodded tutor, which was so impressive!!''
