4月25日にメイク・ア・ウィッシュ オブ ジャパン（ＭＡＷＪ）のチャリティーマラソンに参加しました。
メイク・ア・ウィッシュが支援するのは、難病のために日々様々な困難に立ち向かっている子どもたち。子どもたちの夢を叶えるために2000名近いチャリティランナーが参加を表明していましたが、当日はあいにくの大雨。それでも集合場所には、セールスフォース・ドットコムからの10名を含む、数百人の勇者が揃いました！
ずぶぬれになりながら、合羽を着ながらなどランニングスタイルは様々。沿道の交通整理ボランティアのみなさんに励まされながら、皇居周辺を完走しました。
リーダーを務めたESの久野 暢子からのコメントです。「今年は2回目の参加ですが、あいにくの雨にも関わらず、初めて完走できました。走った後は本当に気持ち良かったです。」
EducationのSenior Managerの細谷均は二人の愛娘、優希ちゃんと愛理ちゃんとともにスタート。優希ちゃんは昨年に続いての参加で、余裕のある走りを見せました。愛理ちゃんは始めて5キロを完走したことが自信になりました。２人の足どりは軽く、ぐいぐいとパパを引き離してのゴールでした。

Employees at salesforce.com Japan took part in the Make a Wish of Japan (MAWJ) charity marathon on April 25th.
MAWJ supports children with life-threatening medical conditions. With the aim of granting their wishes, about 2,000 runners registered for this charity marathon. In spite of heavy rain on the very day, as many as hundreds of brave runners including 10 people from salesforce.com Japan gathered, started running - some were wearing rain coat, others were just soaking wet. They ran around the Imperial Palace with the support of volunteers for traffic control, and finally finished.
Yohko Kuno, ES, took the leadership of the event. ''This was my second time to participate in the MAWJ charity marathon. Despite the heavy down pour I was able to jog through the 5 km run for the first time. The previous year I started walking at the 2 km point. Participating in a fund raising event for kids is a joy in itself, but I think it was a good occasion to regain my self-confidence. I may even try the 10 km course next year…''
Hitoshi Hosoya, Senior Manager of Education, participated with his beloved daughters, Yuki and Airi. Yuki ran last year too and she looked enjoying running. Airi completed the full five kilometers for the first time, which gave her great confidence. Both of them were running with light feet, pulling away from their father.
Rain falls this spring day.
My daughters are far away.
The distance between us grows.
