Building Tomorrow's Leaders: BizAcademy Reflection

BizAcademy Reflection May 2009

Kabishan Shanmuganthan participated in the March 2009 Toronto BizAcademy.  He shares his thoughts on  the program.

Hi, my name Kabi, and at the age of sixteen, I felt as if BizAcademy was the turning point of my life.  I believe that programs such as BizAcademy builds tomorrow’s leaders.  As teenagers are just starting to take their first step into the workforce, this provides them with a much greater and reputable experience.  The skills that we have acquired while working at Salesforce.com will not only made us much more knowledgeable, but it had allowed to develop a sense of professionalism at as such a young age.  For someone like me, who is quite keen on perusing a career in business, it had opened many doors for in which I never would have imagined of.  It had felt as if we have had acquired a post secondary education degree in less than a week.

Within the 4 days, we had learned quite of information, such as etiquette skills, how to create a business plan and many other things.  With many hard working groups, the competitions that was amongst the groups meant long days in group meetings and the accomplishment of work.   With many group conflicts, and twelve hour days, the sense of accomplishment was priceless.  As the last final days of the week came around, we each had developed friendships that would last a long time.  With many long days, and with many conflicts, I believe we all made it, and it was the most memorable thing that ever happened in my life.
