Larkin Street Youth Services inspires homeless and runaway youth to move beyond the streets.  They provide more than 400 young people during the holiday season with warm and delicious meals as well as a special holiday gift to make their lives more comfortable and add meaning and joy to the holiday season. The Salesforce Women’s Network members (see Linked In group Salesforce Women’s Network for more information ) pitched in on December 15th to help Larkin Street get ready for their holiday season. This energetic gang of volunteers sorted dozens of bags of generous donations (they organized a very messy gift closet) to make it easy for case workers to “shop” and fulfill their clients' wish lists for the holidays. The group had a great time putting gift wrapping talents to good use wrapping gifts for over 70 clients while listening to holiday music and getting to know one another.  This event proved meaningful and reminded the volunteers of the true meaning of the holidays.

"It was very inspiring to be a small part in contributing to someone else's happiness during the holidays.  Just thinking of how excited someone was going to be to tear off my gift wrapping made me giddy!  It's just amazing to see the extent of services that organizations like Larkin Street Youth Services provides to our community, and of the many things that I'm grateful for, I'm thankful to be living in a community that truly cares about and invests in it's less privileged population, regardless of status or situation."
