Irish Blue Cross Run

Ireland

I did the great Ireland run (10k) in order to raise funds for the Irish blue cross. Those that know me will know that running isn't something that I take naturally to and so this was a challenge for me!  I completed the run in just over 1hr recording a new personal best in the process but still have a long way to go before joining the ranks of the pro runners!

I had great support from friends and family raising €179 for the charity and am hoping to get a matching contribution from SFDC.

The Irish Blue Cross is an animal welfare charity that was founded in 1945. It provides a network of mobile veterinary clinics throughout Dublin and also operates a low cost referral scheme and a neutering scheme. The services of the charity target needy pet owners who cannot afford full veterinary fees. The Charity also runs a horse ambulance service which attends all race meetings throughout Ireland.  In Spring 2009, the Charity opened a new small animal clinic at its headquarters in Inchicore. The new clinic is ensuring that many more animals in need of vital veterinary care are receiving assistance.

I don’t have a photo of just myself and Franziska but have a group photo of the blue cross runners attached.  I am at the back on the left hand side and Franziska is in the centre with the black cap. - Niall

I also did the Great Ireland Run (10k) in order to raise funds for the Irish Blue Cross. It was a fun event with almost 12.000 people walking and running. So we made our way through the lovely Phoenix Park, which is a wonderful place to run. It was astonishing to see a long snake of people making its way along the course. I did the 10k in 1:08h which is quite slow but there is a lot of improvement so I am looking forward to next year. - Franziska

Franziska an Niall raised combined €498 which with the matching means €996... plus an extra $120 so total €1,120 - well done guys.
