日本のFinance and Operations (F&O)は、2010年4月12日～16日の5日間をチームボランティアウィークと設定し、様々なファンデーション活動に参加しました。30名以上のF&Oメンバーが部門を超えて協力し合い、130時間以上ものアクティビティに貢献しました。

子供地球基金では、パンフレットや手紙などの封入作業を行いました。

  「色とりどりの子供達の絵に囲まれて、パワーをもらいました。」「単純作業で、頭は自由だったので、リフレッシュして色々と考える時間が持てました。ここのボランティアのいいところは、初心を思い出させてもらえるところです。」

特別養護老人ホーム サン・サン赤坂では、歌詞カードの作成や洗濯のアイロンかけをしました。

  「デイセンター参加で待機されている方が思いのほか多いと仰ったのですが、港区に高齢者が多いイメージがなかったので、意外でした。自分の高齢の親のことを考えさせられる良い機会になりました。」

セカンドハーベスト・ジャパンでは、炊き出しの準備として食材を洗ったり刻む作業を手伝いました。

  「900人分の材料を刻むのは大変だったけど楽しくもあり、食事に困っている人がこんなにも多いことに色々と考えさせられました。」「お年寄りも多いことを知って結構なショックを受け、何かもっと自分になにかできることがないかなと考えさせられました。」

During the week of April 12, members of the Japan Finance and Operations (F&O) teams were involved in various foundation activities as part of their Team Volunteer Week.  Over 30 employees collaborated cross-functionally and contributed to more than 130 hours of foundation activities.

At Kids Earth Fund, an NPO that to promotes peace and environmental conservation through the medium of children's art, employees helped enclose pamphlets and letters.

   "It was exhilarating to be around colorful children's painings."  "The tasks were simple but were great ways to refresh and reset our minds."

Lyric card creation and ironing were performed at San San Akasaka, a senior daycare center.

  "We were surprised to learn that there are many seniors on the waiting list, even in downtown Tokyo!  It was a good experience and made me think about my aged parents."

Employees helped wash and chop up vegetables for Second Harvest Japan's soup kitchen.

  "Althought it was hard work, it was also meditative and enjoyable, and I was excited to see the food pile up knowing that it will be distributed to nearly 900 people.” "I was shocked to learn that many elderly people are in need of the soup kitchen and made me wonder if there's anything more that I can do to help."
