Radicle Spring Tea Party for the elderly

About 60 pensioners attended this fantastic event that was organised by Claire & Julia. The afternoon kicked off with a quiz that the party goers loved. This was followed by a twenty minute set from the drama school 'Sylvia Young' - a school specifically for talented schoolchildren. Food was next and then finally we had a fabulous set from professional crooner - Patricia Hammond - who got the old people involved in a sing-a-long with a repetoire that included many early twentieth century music hall classics. Finally, we had a tombola, where all the partygoers won a prize that had been bought with kind donations from UK employees.

On behalf of RADICLE I wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for the hard work that you put into planning and managing yesterday’s tea party. It was a great success as you could tell from the smiling faces of all the guests. Every detail was just right, from the decorations (you can never have too much bunting) to the food (the amazing cup cakes and the crust less sandwiches that must have taken ages) to the entertainment (classy Ms Hammond and the angelic choir who brought a tear to everyone’s eye).

You and your colleague worked so well together to ensure it all went smoothly and that everyone enjoyed the afternoon. Please can you send this thank you to your lovely assistants Libby, Jonathan, MC Phil, Leon, Chris, Steve, Isabel and Philip and also to your bosses for managing without you for the day.

I didn’t think you could top the success of the Eastbourne trip but you proved me wrong.

Thanks as well to all those who helped on the day... Steve McCreavy, our MC Phil Rogers, Jonathan Sol, Libby Darlington, Isabel Kelly & Leon Weaver
