August 2006 San Francisco, CA Jessica spent her entire Spring Break this year waking up early, dressing professionally, and learning all about the business world in the BizAcademy program. And now she spent the last six weeks of her summer vacation back at salesforce.com, this time as an intern! A perk for BizAcadmey graduates, Jessica applied and was given a six week internship working in the Professional Services Department. Working with her wonderful mentor Mary Rose Getschow, Operations Analyst, Jessica was able to transfer many of the things she learned in the BizAcademy program into real experience working on various administrative and program tasks. The internship originally ended with the end of summer, but Jessica became such an asset to the team, they extended her intership through the school year! "This internship has defintely opened my eyes to doing very well and staying in school, going to college and maybe graduate school. Everyone around me is so educated and sophisticated so just by hearing and seeing the way they talk and deal with customers I am learning." Jessica was able to pull a lot from what she learned in the BizAcademy Program and mastered a lot of skills. " I learned verbal, writing, research and planning, leadership and salesforce.com application skills. I loved meeting so many important people who took time out of their day to pay attention to me even though I am only in high school!" Jessica will spend her senior year working hard at school, applying to college, and working at salesforce.com part time taking on even more challenging tasks than those she mastered this summer.
