Salesforce goes sailing with Kids Company

Regatta

Salesforce.com EMEA employees, customers and partners raise £11,000 for charities, including KidsCo, at 2nd Annual Regatta.

Monday 18 September 2006, Port Solent, UK.

A group of young people and chaperones from London-based charity Kids Company (www.kidsco.org.uk) enjoyed a fabulous day out in Port Solent learning to sail, along with rugby legend Brian Moore and UK TV host Melissa Porter. They also got to stay overnight in a nearby hotel, and particularly loved the showers and comfy beds!

Salesforce.com's UK Country Manager, Peter Grant, together with Carl Henderson from Marketing, organized this second Annual Salesforce.com Regatta.

Partners and customers bought 21 yachts, and raised race prize money of over £11,000 - all of which was donated to children's charities.

Winning crew from MeetingZone chose to donate their prize money to Kids Company. Omniture came in second place and gave their money to the NSPCC and third place crew, Elevate, donated their winnings to their local Bristol branch of Make-A-Wish.

Camila Batmanghelidjh, the inspiration behind Kids Company, said "the kids had a fantastic time sailing and sleeping in the hotel. They couldn't get over the quality of everything. Your welcome was really generous. Thank you for the money you raised too - our kids felt really respected".
