Nairobi, Kenya September 2006
Since August, and for the duration of their University career, four girls and one boy from poor slum families in Kenya have been personally sponsored by salesforce.com executives Steve Garnett and Ronan Copeland, and by Foundation supporters Ronan Cunningham and Patrick Kennedy.
In addition, fifteen schoolgirls have been personally sponsored for this academic year by salesforce.com employees and their families, customers and Foundation supporters from Ireland, the UK, France and Italy.
The incredible generosity of the sponsors will enable girls who are academically able, but who are orphaned or whose parents could never afford to pay for their education, to study, to change their own lives and to go on to make valuable contributions to Kenyan society.
Not only do the sponsorships pay the students' school and University fees, but also for their clothing, accommodation, transport and food.
