May 2007, Singapore
My name is Stephanie Tang. I was first a participant in the first BizAcademy in Singapore in June 2006. Six months later, I was selected to be an intern for BizAcademy 2 for the December group in Singapore Salesforce.com offices. That program has laid a strong foundation in my heart to see beyond winning or losing in competitions as it has greatly impacted my life with the values I have learned, for instance, leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
I did not perceive myself to be working at Salesforce, hence, it is a blessing to be found here even as an intern, helping out in the Finance Department. I was filled with anticipation and excitement when I signed up for an interview and time slipped by, I am in my second month here working in this environment which enables me to grow and build my characters over time. It reinforces for me that meticulousness and accuracy play the major role in my area of checking the employee's expenses in compliance with the company policies.
My job includes basic tasks such as assisting employees with completing expense claims, documents management, and finance related administrative work. I learn to renew my passion daily to keep me going on and to love what I am doing. Working here has certainly equipped me to be able to think and learn to deal with the ‘unknowns' confidently and to have the courage and convictions to face the adversities. Besides that, I also learn to take pride in my work and value working with others. Moreover, the people here at Salesforce are amiable and many of them are approachable. Importantly, I am inspired by many ones here, to have a spirit of continual improvement; a lifelong habit of learning and enterprising in undertakings.
I believe working here would help me to apply the knowledge I am learning for future purpose. Looking back, I am thankful that I was given and believed in these opportunities. BizAcademy & Salesforce.com is definitely an opportunity for all and a place for everyone who is willing to work and contribute to the company or society.
