BizAcademy gives students from under-resourced and low-income communities a chance to join the corporate world for a week at our regional Salesforce.com offices.
Citywise is a not-for-profit organisation which was set up to run education, sporting and personal development programmes. It began in 1991 in Dublin as a response to educational under-achievement of young people living in difficult city backgrounds and was formally established in 1994. Salesforce has a longstanding relationship with Citywise and this time it was a canoeing trip that we supported.
During 2010 Summer Volunteer Weeks (August
2-31), Salesforce.com Tokyo and Osaka office dedicated more than 850
volunteering hours to the community, making a difference to the society.
Josie Vertz contacted the Foundation to see how her team could make an impact in the local community. When presented with the opportunity to work with Rebuilding Togehter and MAC Children and Family Services to refurbish 3 apartments for foster youth, she jumped into action and made it happen (even with quarter end fast approaching)! She shares her team’s experience.
