The Foundation led an amazing trip to 'our' school in Kenya, focusing on leadership, IT and TAG rugby.
The partnership between the Foundation and the
School dates back almost a decade. Initially introduced by a Salesforce
employee from Ireland, the relationship quickly showed the potential to making
a lasting impact in this community.
As an added bonus we were joined by consulting partners, Westbrook International and Appichar..as well as Rebecca Enonchong from our Foundation Board.
During 2010 Summer Volunteer Weeks (August
2-31), Salesforce.com Tokyo and Osaka office dedicated more than 850
volunteering hours to the community, making a difference to the society.
AlpAtlas is an NGO set up in Lausanne in 2004. It aims to fight against poverty by enabling the poor to develop their strengths and potential to take charge of their destiny. One of those events that bring a lump to your throat. Following on from a ground breaking Christmas activity with Simpson's Hospital - a residential hospice for elderly men, a team of SR's based in Dublin took a group out to the zoo.
This summer salesforce.com UK had a wonderful opportunity to get involved with The Elephant Family - a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the plight of the Asian Elephant. We were the corporate sponsors of the event and supplied scores of volunteers to coat the 260 artist/designer painted elephants with anti-grafitti resin as well as being involved with installation of these elephants throughout London.
Lisa Hutt, Senior Director for Event Marketing, spent the day at Berger Primary School in the deprived area of Tower Hamlets. The children set up their own card business (making the cards themselves) and Lisa shared insight on how to best market them.
