Our employees are passionate about contributing to their community. And we're passionate about empowering them do it. Here's how we support them globally.
Community Action Team grants
Community Action Team (CAT) grants are inspired and led by employees who are partnering with qualified charitable organizations to identify community needs and then plan, organize and participate in responsive volunteer events. These grants are reviewed by an employee council and, if approved, sponsored by the Foundation. Nonprofits can be recipients of this grant type by engaging a team of at least four salesforce.com employees and reminding them to take advantage of the CAT grant incentive program.
Dollars for Doers
Salesforce.com employees who have volunteered a minimum of 10 hours with an eligible nonprofit in any given year are qualified for a grant. For every 10 hours volunteered, the Foundation will donate $100, with an annual donation cap of $500 per employee, per nonprofit.
Matching gifts
Employees donating funds to qualified nonprofit organizations are eligible for matching funds from the Foundation—up to $1,000 per employee, per calendar year. Salesforce.com employees should submit their requests early to take advantage of this program.
How to get involved
Information and grant request forms for our employee inspired granting programs are available to salesforce.com employees on the Foundation’s page of the intranet. We urge nonprofits to encourage their volunteers from salesforce.com to participate in these programs.
“The CAT grant program is amazing! It enabled me to have a real impact on an organization I’m passionate about. I was able to not only volunteer my own time, but also lead a group of eight other employees to collectively volunteer over 500 hours towards rebuilding the New Orleans economy.”
